Features Ajua
Ajua is a traditional African board game common among the Luo community of Kenya.
The game is played by only two players at a time.
The board is traditionally made from the bark of a tree and it contains 18 holes in total.
Each player has 8 holes on their side and one large hole to their left, which is used as the bank.
When the game starts each of the non-bank holes has 3 pebbles.
A player selects one hole randomly and then picks all the pebbles in that hole.
The player is allowed to move in a clockwise manner while dropping one pebble to one hole, a process known as sowing.
When the pebbles picked are over and the hole in which the last pebble was sowed is not empty the player is allowed to pick all the pebbles in that hole and the process continues.
Player two gets a chance to play when Player one has sowed the last pebble in an empty hole or in their bank.
At the end of the game the person whose bank has the most pebbles wins.
It's a mind game where you have to make calculations as you play.
